UNDATED – Mother Nature has a little something for everyone on Monday.

Weather advisories ranging from flood to wind to blizzard warnings have been issued all over northeast and North Central Nebraska.

The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for Boyd and Keya Paha Counties until noon Tuesday and for Knox and Cedar counties until six p-m Tuesday. The NWS says four to six inches of snow is expected to fall in northern Nebraska, which will combine with 50 mile an hour wind gusts to create whiteout conditions. The Nebraska Department of Roads reported that highways were already covered with ice and snow near Creighton and Bloomfield and along Highways 275 and 20 between Ewing and Newport.

Precipitation farther south has caused the NWS to issue a winter weather advisory for Antelope, Pierce and Wayne counties until six p.m. Tuesday. Forecasters say two to four inches of snow is expected there, with winds blowing between 20 and 35 miles per hour, with occasional wind gusts as high as 50 mph.

The winds will be heavy everywhere, as a wind advisory has been issued for most of northeast Nebraska until 5 p.m. Monday, due to possible wind gusts as high as 45 mph.

As if that weren’t enough, melting snow and ice over the weekend has caused a number of rivers to swell past their banks. The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings for Ponca Creek at Verdel, the North Fork of the Elkhorn River near Pierce and the Platte River near Columbus.
