Beaumont Answers ‘What Does Wayne Need’ With Early Success

WAYNE – What does Wayne need? It’s a question Leadership Wayne classes have asked themselves every year.

After taking Leadership Wayne, Josie Broders and husband Ransen knew what Wayne needed. Just over a year after finding the perfect piece of property, Wayne has the Beaumont Event & Concert Hall.

April has been a busy month for the Broders, their 20 part-time employees and chef. In the last few weeks, the Beaumont has seen it’s first wedding, two open houses and first concert. Without even being open, the Broders saw success with the event center just north of the golf course. With about 24 weddings on the book for 2019 and the first concert, the Beaumont proved it was just what Wayne needed.

“We had no idea that it would sell out the way it did,” Josie said. “I sold tickets online just so we could test out how the whole process works and then kind of get an initial practice of our ticket scanning system and then it sold out.”

The early success of the Beaumont has much to do with its utility.

“It’s a one-of-a-kind place, there’s nothing like it around here,” Ransen said.

It’s not simply a place for weddings or concerts, though, it does serve as a beautiful, rustic-barn inspired space. The Beaumont will eventually have a restaurant, The Birch Room, and has a rentable meeting room that looks as good as the event space.

Even then, Josie is quick to point out that when someone rents the space, they’re not just renting an empty room. She takes pride in providing table layouts, linens and high quality, attentive service to ensure that any wedding party or group that uses the Beaumont will walk away happy. The space has been well thought out to cater to any need with a large bride room and kids room.

The Broders say they hope to influence Wayne’s culture with the Beaumont. The hall has several concerts already planned and hope that the live-music venue will cultivate a bigger music scene in the area. With music will come crowds and dancing.

“These gathering places, these dance halls, they’re starting to pop back up and it’s because people maybe miss each other,” Josie said. “They want to be together and enjoy it and I think Wayne is a perfect spot for something like this.”

The Broders also want the areas’ schools and organizations to enjoy the Beaumont. Wayne High’s FFA banquet will be at venue in May and the couple said they are more than happy to work with groups to find a price point to allow them to enjoy the space.

“We want to have all those things here, they’re things that are good for our community, good for the state,” Ransen said. Josie added “That’s where it started. It started with that whole Leadership Wayne class and ‘what does Wayne need?’”
