AWANA Clubs Registration, Get Acquainted Night Kicks Off Wednesday

CONCORD – Make plans to attend a Registration/Get-Acquainted Night at the Evangelical Free Church as the Concord AWANA Clubs open their year Wednesday.

From 617 Broadway in Concord, registration will last from 6:45 to 8 p.m. for parents followed by ice cream sundaes. Clubbers will join in on the games from 7 – 7:30 p.m. and handbook time between 7:30 – 8 p.m. with ice cream bars to follow.

The first full club night will be on Wednesday, September 5 with a ‘GO BIG RED’ theme and tailgate party beginning at 6:45 p.m. AWANA Clubs will continue to meet Wednesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. through April.

According to a release, and new this year, a “Growing Kids God’s Way” class for parents will be offered. The class will begin on Tuesday, September 18 and meet at the Concord Senior Citizens Center while Awana meets at the Concord Evangelical Free Church. Parents can register for this class Wednesday night.

AWANA is a nondenominational organization. The Clubs feature Bible stories, Scripture memorization, games, songs and treats.  Participating children earn Bible and activity awards to be displayed on Awana vests, jerseys or banners. The Concord Evangelical Free Church provides Clubs for ages four – five (Cubbies), kindergarten through second grade (Sparks), third to sixth grade (Mission: Agents of Grace) and Junior High (Trek).
