August Area Blood Drives

WAYNE – Make plans to sign up and give blood during several upcoming area blood drives in the month of August.

According to a release from LifeServe Blood Center, community members are being asked to book an appointment to give blood. It’s important that eligible community members continue to give blood regularly to ensure the health of the community as there is no substitute for human blood.

Area towns hosting community blood drives include Ponca, Dixon, Randolph and Laurel.

Ponca Community Blood Drive: Thursday, August 6 from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Ponca Community Hall (119 West 3rd St.)

Dixon Community Blood Drive: Wednesday, August 12 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Dixon Community Center (107 1st St.)

Randolph Community Blood Drive: Tuesday, August 18 from 1 – 6 p.m. at the Randolph City Auditorium (119 North Main St.)

Laurel Community Blood Drive: Friday, August 21 from 2:15 – 6 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church (401 Wakefield)

To help ensure the safety of blood donors and team members during this COVID-19 pandemic, LifeServe is enforcing several precautionary measures. Donors who do not have an appointment will not be able to give blood. Blood donors should pre-screen themselves for fever prior to appointments. Only donors with temperatures under 99.5 will be allowed to donate. Blood donors are required to wear a mask for the duration of their appointment. Donors who do not have masks will be provided with one.
