Arnie’s Ford Recognizes One Of Their Own, Chamber Percs Goes On Virtual Test Drive

WAYNE – Ken Kwapnioski was recognized Friday morning during Chamber Percs as Arnie’s Ford hosted the weekly chamber event on December 4.

Wayne Area Economic Development Executive Director, Luke Virgil began the event with updates from the chamber office. He also addressed the City of Wayne mask requirement.

“Please be patient with people, please be careful about the situation and avoid the three C’s as the governor has said many times,” said Virgil. “Crowded places, close contact and confined spaces. Wash your hands regularly, sanitize regularly if possible, maintain that proper social or physical distancing and if you’re not feeling well, just plan to stay home.”

Prior to Chamber Percs going for a ride virtually with Ken, Bill Reeg, President of Arnie’s Ford shared more information about the company including the annual Christmas Gift Drive.

Reeg stated it’s been an honor to work with Ken Kwapnioski, as so many times he’s gone above and beyond the call of duty.

“Over the years I can’t begin to tell you the kindness that he’s done for me, for Betty and for my kids,” Reeg added. “Ken has served as a terrific ambassador for the dealership. He’s served on many boards, volunteer groups, his church.”

Reeg will be presenting Ken with a plague for his 25 years of service.

Kwapnioski mentioned Wayne will always be his ‘home’ and appreciates Bill’s family welcoming in his family.

“I’ve lived here for 35 years,” Kwapnioski mentioned. “I came to town once and this dealership was one of the first people, Bill’s dad and Bill as a matter of fact are some of the first people I met when I came here and welcomed me to the town. So, it was only fitting to come here and work because I had that home-family-type feeling even though I’m 70 miles away from where I grew up.”

Arnie’s also joined the City of Wayne by offering a charging station that will be up and running the next few weeks.

The first winners were selected for $50 of chamber bucks through the Holiday Stamp Card Promotion are Jill Lehmkuhl, Shannon Ridenour and Leslie Linares.

The Majestic Theatre will host Chamber Percs virtually through the Wayne, NE Facebook page on Friday, December 11 starting at 10:15 a.m. View past Chamber Percs under the videos tab of the Wayne, NE on Facebook page.
