Armor Coating Roadwork Begins Week Of August 10 Near Wakefield, Neligh Area

NORFOLK – A pair of projects will begin the week of Monday, August 10 in northeast Nebraska.

According to a release from the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT), weather permitting, armor coating will take place near Wakefield.

Armor coating is an application of an asphalt binder to a roadway surface followed by an aggregate.

State maintenance forces will be performing this work on N-9/N-35 junction to the N-9/US-20 junction. Traffic will be maintained with a pilot car and flaggers with the anticipated completion date being August 19.

Also, state maintenance forces will be performing armor coating on a 10 mile stretch of US-275 west of Clearwater to Neligh beginning the week of August 10. Traffic will be maintained with a pilot car and flaggers with work anticipated to be competed in four days.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously near all work zones, buckle up and put the phone down.
