Archery And Bees Highlight Saturday Activities At Ponca State Park

PONCA – Saturday Ponca State Park will hold events to help the public get out and embrace springtime in Nebraska.

From 9-11 a.m., park goers and take in an introduction to archery. The course will be held at the Eric Wiebe Shooting Complex with a cost of $1 for six arrows. All equipment will be provided, and archers must be at least five years of age.

Critter Corner is coming back to the park at 1 p.m. This program will give participants of all ages a snapshot of the wildlife found along the Missouri River. Those in attendance will be able to not only see, but touch, live creatures, furs, feathers, shells and sculls. Those interested should meet at the Resource and Education Center.

Bees are nature’s unsung heroes, and Ponca State Park guests can learn all about them at 3 p.m. During the “What’s the Buzz” event, guests ill learn all about bees that live both in colonies and by themselves. Participants can also build bee hotels for solitary bees. Those interested should pre-register at the front desk. The event is limited to 30 people and the cost is $2 bee hotel.
