Approval Of Fire Department Application For Membership Needed, CAC Concession Renovation To Be Presented

WAYNE – For the second time in the month of November, Wayne City Councilmembers will hold their regularly scheduled meeting.

From the council chambers inside the City Hall, the meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19.

Fire Chief, Phil Monahan will bring forth fifth individuals for council to take action on the Wayne Volunteer Fire Department application for membership.

A public hearing will then take place for annexation of real estate into the Corporate Limits in the southeast quadrant of the City of Wayne.

After the last city council meeting where council voted to sell the property at the corner of 10th and Main Streets, it was determined a fifth affirmative vote is needed for the proper action. Staff is bringing back both the resolution and first reading to be considered again. Ordinance 2019-16 will direct the sale of the Spahr’s Addition to the City of Wayne; Wayne County, Nebraska.

An action item will also on the agenda to approve and direct city staff to move forward with the renovation of the concession area in the Wayne Community Activity Center Facility. This was proposed during the council min-retreat. Recreation Services Coordinator, Amber Schwarte will present the proposal to renovate the area and answer any questions.
