American Red Cross Asking For Help To Stop Summer Donation Dip

WAYNE – Accidents and medical emergencies don’t take summer vacations, yet around Memorial Day, blood donations drop dramatically with donors busy with summer activities. The American Red Cross is asking for help.

The public is asked to schedule an appointment to donate blood or platelets to ensure that hospitals and patients continue to have supply to meet the demand. Volunteers can make an appointment to donate or get more information about donation by downloading the free Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

As a way to say thank you to those who donate between now and June 10th, will receive a $5 gift card (Restrictions apply; see and those who donate between May 25th and May 29th will receive a Red Cross t-shirt while supplies last.
