CARROLL – A trio of events will be hosted by the Wayne County Sharp Shooters 4-H Club this weekend.
The Sharp Shooters will put on the Air Gun Invite on Saturday and Sunday, February 1-2 in the Carroll Auditorium in Carroll, Nebraska.
This event will comprise of a BB Gun, Sporter Air Rifle and a Precision Air Rifle competition, all running concurrently both days. There will also be multiple divisions in each event.
The BB Gun match will be a four position (Prone, Standing, Sitting and Kneeling), 10 shots per position for score event. Ages eligible are 8 to 15 years old.
Sporter Air Rifle is a three-position competition (Prone, Standing and Kneeling) with shooters shooting 20 shots for score per position at 10 meters. Ages eligible are 8 to adult.
Precision Air Rifle has competitors shooting all shot for score from the standing position as a target distance of 10 meters. Competitors will also have the opportunity to use Olympic grade equipment including jackets, pants and more in this event with ages 8 to adults being eligible.
All these events will be governed by NRA rules.
In the youth divisions, 18 and under, competitors can shoot in two different divisions. 4-H (must be enrolled in a 4-H shooting sports program), NRA or both. The adult (open) divisions are NRA matches only as NRA memberships are not required to compete.
