‘A Christmas Carol’ Video Auditions Being Sought For Little Red Hen Theatre Performance

WAKEFIELD – A deadline to submit audition videos for a northeast Nebraska theatre is approaching this week.

According to a release from the Little Red Hen Theatre, auditions are being accepted for its upcoming production of ‘A Christmas Carol’. The production will be an inventive adaption of the classic Charles Dickens story as actors and technicians will breathe life into the story of Ebenezer Scrooge through visual effects, ghosts, mime and imagination as told by a rag tag group of traveling players, clowns and musicians.

Due to COVID-19, the theatre will be holding these auditions via a video submission process which is due to the theatre by Friday, September 18. Interested actors can find guidelines about how to submit auditions at www.littleredhentheatre.com.

The Little Red Hen Theatre will also continue to use safety guidelines and protocols that were put in place for its summer musical production moving forward. This includes practicing social distancing at rehearsals, wearing masks, daily disinfecting of the rehearsal space and asking participants to self-monitor for symptoms accordingly.

Rehearsals for the production will begin in October and wrap up in early November. Currently, the theatre plans to film the production for streaming throughout the holidays in December.

The production is an ensemble show, and will utilize non-traditional casting, meaning that anyone could be asked to play any part in the show. In addition to actors, the theatre is looking for volunteers to assist with the technical elements of the show as well. This includes assistant directors, stage managers and helping with lights, sound, costumes and set. Interested actors and technicians are encouraged to visit www.littleredhentheatre.com for more information and to download audition and technical volunteer packets.
