4-H, FFA Check-In Schedules Beginning This Saturday For Wayne County Fair

WAYNE – In less than seven days the 2019 Wayne County Fair will be the place to be in northeast Nebraska.

The Wayne County Fairgrounds are located on the west side of Wayne by turning south on 575th Ave. off of Highway 35.

With the main events being held Thursday, July 25 – Sunday, July 28 there’ll also be activities going on this weekend and next Wednesday.

On Saturday, July 20 check-ins will take place for household pets and cats at 8:30 a.m. from the Wayne County Expo Center along with a dog check-in from the Swine Arena (Kaden Schmale) at the same time. Moving into the 9 o’clock hour Saturday morning, the 4-H/FFA dog show and household pet show will be held.

Moving into Wednesday, July 24 all livestock are asked to enter through the west (main) gates as there’ll be no gate fees that day.

Entry of all 4-H/FFA projects not interview judged will last from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m.; Clover Kids project entries are scheduled from 7:30 a.m. until noon and the interview judging of Ag miscellaneous, human development, foods, home environment, family & consumer science as well as FFA will be held from 8:30 a.m. – 2:15 p.m. all in the 4-H Building.

Entry for all open class home economics exhibits will also take place from 5:30 – 7 p.m. from the Ag Hall.

From 6 – 8 p.m. 4-H/FFA meat goat, beef, open class sheep, swine, horse, open class poultry & rabbit as well as dairy checks-ins are scheduled in their respective barns.  All hogs must be on the fairgrounds by 6 p.m. as dairy has until 9 p.m. to check-in Wednesday. Also, a note from the fair that horses are not a part of FFA this year.
