WAYNE – As Phase 1A of the vaccination distribution nears an end, the next phase will begin in the coming weeks.
According to a release from the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department, the group recently posted a link for the general public to find out when they would be eligible for the Coronavirus vaccine.
Phase 1A began in late December of 2020 and will end in mid-January for healthcare workers as well as Long Term Care Facility workers and residents.
Phase 1B will begin in mid-January and last through mid-March.
This would be for those age 75+, first responders, education member (teachers, support staff, daycare) and basic infrastructure (grocery workers, utilities, food processing plants, U.S. postal service workers, transportation workers, funeral home workers and more).
Phase 1C would be for those age 65 – 75 and those with high-risk medical conditions from March through April and then the general population between May and October moving into phase 2.
For those who work in Cedar, Dixon, Thurston or Wayne counites in Nebraska that fit into the Phase 1B COVID-19 Vaccine Priority Group (if you have not already put your name on a list) and are interested in getting the vaccine can sign-up here.
You’ll be contacted in the future when it is time to schedule to get vaccinated.
For those who know of someone who doesn’t have internet access, NNPHD health officials are asking you to help them register. If you are planning to assist more than 10 people to register, contact the local health department at 402-375-2200 for an official sign-up spreadsheet.
