Wayne Ace Hardware & Home Is Now Open, Hear Complete Interview With Store Manager Friday

WAYNE – A new business to a northeast Nebraska community opened their doors earlier this week filling the empty space that was left when Shopko corporate filed for bankruptcy.

Brandon Hall is the store manager with Wayne Ace Hardware & Home. He said their opening day was Wednesday, April 15.

“We were able to get the doors open about 10:30 a.m.,” said Hall. “Once the doors were open, we had a steady flow of customers all day. I mean the response we had from everyone went really well. They were impressed with the store, the layout of the store, the products we offer and everything else.”

The Wayne Ace will be open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 7 p.m., Saturday’s from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday’s 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Hall brings in both retail and sales experience from his previous work and submitted his name for the store manager position after hearing about the opening.

“Prior to this I was sales manager at a vinyl fence and railing company, Husker Vinyl in Humphrey for the past 11 years,” Hall added. “Then prior to that I was contractor sales manager and billing material manager at Menards in Norfolk for six years.”

The store is currently employing seven other full-time employees along with Hall and they’re starting out with 11 other part-time workers but could add more positions as business dictates.
