Free Screening Of ‘Suicide: The Ripple Effect’ Scheduled For Sunday

WAYNE – The downtown movie theatre in Wayne will be offering a free showing of “Suicide: The Ripple Effect” this weekend.

All are welcome to the Majestic Theatre at 310 Main Street on Sunday, September 29 for a 7 p.m. show to attend this free moving screening. The documentary film is one hour and 33 minutes in length.

“Suicide: The Ripple Effect” is a film and a movement for hope and healing that highlights the journey of Kevin Hines. At 19-years old, Hines attempted to take his own life by jumping from the Golden Gate bridge. Today, Kevin is a world-renowned mental health advocate, motivational speaker and author who travels the globe spreading a message of hope, recovery and wellness.

The film’s opening weekend debut was February 25, 2018 in the box office and was released on April 21, 2018 during the Louisiana International Film Festival and again on May 8 of 2018 in France.

September is National Suicide Prevention Month as the National Suicide Prevention hotline is 1-800-273-8255.

The Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department is sponsoring the free movie screening along with their partners Active Minds, Nebraska Behavioral Health Network, Norfolk Area Loss Team and Region 4 Behavioral Health System.
