LINCOLN – The winter severe weather season is right around the corner for Nebraskans. That means it is time for a new Nebraska Severe Weather Awareness/Preparedness Public Service Announcement Contest.
The contest is open to all sixth, seventh, and eighth grade media classes in public and private schools and combined home school students. There are multiple categories in which classes may enter. The winning class infogram will receive $100. The winning class PSA, which will be 30 seconds up to a minute, will receive $250. The winning short video which is three-five minutes will receive $500 in prize money. Prizes will be awarded to the teacher for use in the classroom.
All entries must be related to the theme of sever weather safety and or preparedness. Entries will be judged on originality, effort, and accuracy.
The Nebraska Association of Emergency Management along with the National Weather Service and Nebraska Emergency Management Agency put on the contest. All entries must be submitted electronically to email@example.com by November 19, 2018.
