1st District Congressman Elect Mike Flood To Be Sworn In Next Tuesday

NORFOLK, NE – First District Congressman-elect Mike Flood will take his oath of office and be seated as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday, July 12 and join the 117th U.S. Congress for the balance of the current term.

 

The swearing in ceremony will take place in the Rayburn Room of the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. The ceremony will take place at approximately 6:10pm CDT and will be streamed live on the internet.

Flood defeated his Democrat opponent, Patty Pansing Brooks of Lincoln in a Special Election June 28th. The two will face each other again in the November General Election which will be for a full two-year term beginning in January of next year.

 

 

Flood is also one of the featured speakers on Saturday, July 9th in Kearney as The Nebraska Republican Party holds its biennial State Convention. Other featured convention speakers will include Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, Nebraska Republican gubernatorial nominee Jim Pillen, and U.S. Senator Deb Fischer. Approximately 600 Republican delegates, alternates, and guests are expected to be in attendance.
