LAUREL – Join Laurel and have “Fun at the Q125” hosted by the Laurel Chamber Community Club this weekend.
From Friday, June 15 – Sunday, June 17 you’ll have a chance to bring the family out for Laurel’s Q125, “Preparing The Harvest, Planting The Seeds.”
Following the Q125 Community Picnic from 5 – 6:30 p.m. Friday, opening ceremonies will take place at 7 p.m. from the LCC new gym. The Lumberjack Beard Judging is set for 7:30 p.m. with the “Remembering Our Fallen” exhibit lasting from 8 – 10 p.m. at the Laurel United Presbyterian Church. The exhibit is also taking place from 9 a.m. – 11 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Friday night activities include the Middle School/Teen Dance from 8 – 11 p.m. in the new gym while the “Back Forty” will perform on Main Street from 9 p.m. – 1 a.m.
All day Saturday, enjoy food and beverage vendors along Main Street and Laurel Industrial Park with the Laurel Q125 Fun Run set for 8 a.m.
10 a.m. events are the Mud Volleyball Tournament (57141 HWY 20) as well as a Tractor Pull (Laurel Industrial Park).
Visit Main Street for various afternoon activities including Colors Da Clown; inflatable games and Q125 Variety Show all starting at 1 p.m.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge school tours will last from 4 – 7 p.m. with the LCC Alumni Banquet scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Closing out Saturday includes bull riding at 7 p.m. from the Laurel Industrial Park, Street Dance provided by “The Dweebs” at 9:30 p.m. on Main Street as well as fireworks from the Haskell Field-Athletic Complex.
Opening Sunday the Laurel Veterans Post Breakfast will last from 7:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the City Auditorium. A “Retro Rewind” Car Show is scheduled from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Main Street.
The Laurel Q125 will come to an end with the Red, White & Blue Kiddie Parade at 1:30 p.m. and the Q125 Parade with the theme of “#smalltownusa” at 2:30 p.m. Closing ceremonies are scheduled to follow the parade Sunday.
