8th grade Boys Norfolk Panther Tournament

The Wayne 8th graders went 2-1 over the weekend at the Norfolk Panther Tournament, beating Norfolk 42-39, Columbus 44-33, and losing to Millard West, 47-40. The 8th graders travel to Lincoln this weekend to participate in the MIT tournament and finish the season the following weekend at Kearney.
Wayne - 42 Norfolk - 39
The 8th graders rallied from an 8 point halftime deficit to win round one.
Score by quarters:
Wayne - 11 - 8 - 8 - 15 = 42
Norfolk - 10 - 17 - 4 - 8 = 39

Jalen Barry - 22, Luke Rethwisch - 9, Matt Schrunk - 4, Jared Anderson - 3, Payton Janke - 2, Austin Keiser - 2.
Wayne-44 Columbus - 33
The 8th graders were in command of this one from the start with everyone seeing some decent playing time. No statistics were available.
Millard West - 49 Wayne - 40
Falling behind by at least 12 early was too much for the locals to overcome but they did roar back to take a one point lead early in the fourth quarter. Millard West's depth proved too much for the fatigued Blue Devils.

MWest - 14 -12 - 8 - 15 = 49
