Annual Wayne Kiwanis Pancake Feed to Benefit Local Boy Scouts
Posted: 07 February, 2010
The annual Pancake Feed by the Kiwanis Club of Wayne will take place on Sunday, February 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Wayne Armory. Adding to the traditional menu of all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage this year's Pancake Feed will expand pancake choices to include regular or chocolate chip pancakes, and applesauce will be available in addition to the traditional orange juice and coffee. Suggested donations will be $5 for adults, $3 for children age 12 and under, and age 2 and under will be free.
Founded in 1923, Kiwanis Club of Wayne is part of Kiwanis International, a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis International serves children and communities worldwide with nearly 600,000 adult and youth members in 96 nations, whose members annually devote over 6 million hours and $100 million in projects that strengthen communities. Weekly meetings of the Kiwanis Club of Wayne on Mondays at noon are supplemented by a number of annual projects accomplished by Kiwanis members, often in collaboration with other community organizations such as the City of Wayne, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and 4H. The Kiwanis Club of Wayne also initiates special projects such as the creation of pediatric trauma care kits for use by area and regional ambulance services; and raises funds through events including the annual Pancake Feed, Omelet Feed at the Wayne Chicken Show, wintertime nut sales, and the popular Basketball Slam NCAA basketball pool.
Proceeds from the 2010 Pancake Feed will benefit Boy Scout Troop #174 and youth of Wayne. Many of the ingredients for the event will be provided by Pac “N” Save. Tickets may be purchased in Wayne at Bankfirst, First National Bank, State National Bank, the Career Services Office in the WSC Student Center, or from any Wayne Kiwanis member.
