Maxine Jensen, age 93, of Wayne

Funeral services for Maxine Jensen, age 93, of Wayne will be at the Wayne City Auditorium in Wayne on January 8th; Monday, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be at Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne on January 7th; Sunday, from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. with family present. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. She passed away Sunday; December 31st; at Careage Campus of Care in Wayne. Memorials may be directed to the Jensen Family for later designation.
Maxine Faye Jensen was born March 7, 1924, near Lynch to Davis and Mary (Corson) Jackson. She attended rural school near Hartington and Carroll Public School. She worked on her family’s farm prior to marriage. Maxine married Earl Jensen March 6, 1942, in Hartington. The couple farmed in Wayne County all of their lives except for two years spent in Missouri during the 1940’s, and eight months running a motel in York. They farmed southwest of Wayne for 12 years. In 1971, Maxine and Earl moved to the farm where she was presently residing and they retired in 1998. Maxine was a member of the Christian Faith. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her love for family and friends and wanting to always serve.
Maxine is survived by her children, Wayne (Darlene) Jensen of Winside, Karen (Glen) McCoy of Omaha, Kenneth (Tricia) Jensen of Sonoma, CA, Dean (Kathy) Jensen of Winside, and Dennis (Deb) Jensen of Carroll; 22 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl January 8, 2016; one brother Charles Jackson; and five sisters, Vava Jackson, Grace Jackson, Phyllis Pigg, Leara Curfman, Audrey May; three nieces and one great niece.
