Funeral Services for Alice Roeber, age 97, of Wayne, will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Wakefield on Tuesday 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne on Monday from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with family. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne. She passed away Friday at Brookdale - Wayne. Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Alice Roeber was born January 13, 1920, on a farm northeast of Wayne in Dixon County to Herbert and Lena (Reuter) Hinnerichs. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Wakefield. She attended rural school, Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School, and Hahn High School in Wayne. She cared for her mother before her marriage. Alice married Arnold Roeber March 29, 1950, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. The couple farmed five miles northwest of Wakefield for 35 years. In 1983, they moved to Wayne. Alice was a life-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid for over 50 years. She enjoyed her family and keeping a nice home.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Robert) Thunberg of Gilbert, AZ; granddaughter, Carly Thunberg of Gilbert, AZ; one sister, Bonnie Schrieber of Wayne; nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold in 2009; brother, Gilbert Hinnerichs; two sisters, Betty Lessmann and Bernita Sherbahn.
