James “Jim” Mattison, age 85, of Crofton, Nebraska, died Monday, August 21, 2017, at Avera Sr. James Care Center in Yankton.  A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 25, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Yankton, South Dakota, with Reverend David Wildermuth, Reverend Kwen Sanderson and Pastor Gretchen Ritola officiating.  A gathering of friends and family will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2017, at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Emerson, Nebraska, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.  Military honors will be provided by the Crofton American Legion Post 31 and Patriot Guard Riders.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to St. Dysmas of South Dakota c/o East Side Lutheran 1300 E. 10th St. Sioux Falls, SD  57103 or to Trinity Lutheran Church 403 Broadway St. Yankton, SD  57078.
