Memorial services for Craig Emryn Williams, age 84, of Wayne, formerly of Allen, will be held at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Memorial visitation will be at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne on Friday from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Waterloo, Iowa at a later date. He died Monday at his home at Brookdale-Wayne. Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor’s choosing.

Craig E. Williams was born March 8, 1933 in Lime Springs, IA to William Emryn and Alta (Johnson) Williams. He attended the University of Northern Iowa from 1951 to 1953, after which time he joined the U.S. Army. Craig served in the Army from 1953 to 1955, being stationed primarily in Nuremberg, Germany. Upon returning from active duty, he returned to college and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1957. Craig married Jacquelin Muth on December 23, 1955, in Waterloo, IA. He worked briefly for his father-in-law as a salesman for the Rath Packing Company before joining his father at the Williams Ford dealership in Cresco, IA. In 1963, Craig purchased the Security State Bank in Allen, NE. After working for a brief time at the First State Bank in Fayette, IA, Craig moved back to Allen to raise his family and serve as president of the bank. Craig attended the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduating in 1967. He was active in the American Legion, Allen Community Club, and Allen United Methodist Church, and served as a volunteer fireman and EMT for many years. After retiring from banking in 1984, Craig and Jackie moved to Guttenberg, IA where he enjoyed time playing golf, fishing, traveling, and visiting family and friends. Jackie passed away in 1987. Craig married Linda Bates on June 22, 1991. They spent time in Guttenberg, IA, Sun City, AZ, and Bella Vista, AR. Craig moved to Wayne in 2016 to be closer to family.

Survivors include his daughters, Desiree (Randy) Shaw of Cedar Rapids, IA and Shelly (Troy) Harder of Wayne; brother, John (Donna) Williams of Baxter, MN; sister, Suzanne Howard of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Kari (Joey) Baldwin of Wayne, Amy (Mark) Brown of Columbus, and Emily and Ethan Shaw of Cedar Rapids, IA; great grandsons, Chase and Hunter Baldwin of Wayne and Bryce and Ryker Brown of Columbus; cousins, nieces, and nephews; and special friend, Myrna Roeber of Wayne.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Jacquelin.
