Ray Roberts, age 86, of Carroll

Funeral services for Ray Roberts, 86, of Carroll, will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne on Monday at 10:30 a.m.  Visitation will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne on Sunday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with family present.  Interment with Military Rites will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.  Memorials may be directed to the Roberts family for later designation.  He passed away on Wednesday at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.  Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Raymond Riley Roberts was born August 22, 1930, on a farm near Wayne to Raymond R. and Sena M. (Caauwe) Roberts.  He was raised on the family farm located between Wakefield and Wayne.  He graduated from Wayne High School in 1947 and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Ray married Lois Zeplin April 3, 1960, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wayne. The couple farmed near Carroll where Ray has lived since 1957.  Ray was a member of the Winside American Legion, and former member of the Wayne County Fair Board, Winside School Board, and Carroll Rural Fire Board.  He was a great fan of all sports, especially the Huskers, football, basketball, and volleyball.  Ray was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne.

Raymond is survived by three sons, Paul (Brenda) Roberts of Carroll; Brad (Joanie) Roberts of Winside; and Jim (Angie) Roberts of Syracuse; grandchildren; Andrew (Karli), Jared (Karisa), Audrey, Bryce, Jordyn (Zach Brokaw), Jayd; Blayne, Monty, Cassidy, Klayre; five great-grandchildren, Kyler Roberts, Kayson Roberts, Jensen Roberts, Raylan Roberts, and Adalyn Brokaw; sister, Leona Janke of Wayne; sister-in-law, Ruby Roberts of Wakefield; nieces and nephews.  

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois in 2008; infant granddaughter, Melissa; brothers, Leonard Roberts and Eldin Roberts; sister, Darleen Topp; brothers-in-law, Frederick “Fritz” Janke, Alden Dunklau, and Al Topp; sisters-in-law, Wilma Roberts and Hazel Roberts.
