Bob Meyer, age 92, of Wayne

Funeral services for Bob Meyer, age 92, of Wayne will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. with family present. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. He passed away Monday at Providence Medical Center. Memorials may be directed to the Meyer family for later designation.
 

 
Robert Bernard “Bob” Meyer, was born March 2, 1925, on a farm in Wayne County to Carl F. and Alvina (Victor) Meyer. He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Wakefield and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church.  He attended District #10 Country School and graduated from Wayne High School in 1942.  He served in the United States Army-Air Force as a Flight Officer from October 10, 1943 - October 4, 1945.  He graduated from U.N.L. in 1949, with a degree in history and journalism.  Bob married Annetta Nelson in June of 1949, at Grace Lutheran Church.  They farmed in Wayne County.  Bob married Mona Faye (Kingston) Milligan June 12, 1964, at Grace Lutheran Church.  The couple farmed until moving into Wayne in 1986.  Through the years, Bob worked at KTCH and was a truck driver for Restful Knights.  Bob sang in the Grace Lutheran Church choir for over 75 years and served as an usher.  He was well known for his singing of the National Anthem at area sporting events. He enjoyed baking bread and muffins and making homemade jelly that he would share with many friends and neighbors.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mona Faye; children, Cynthia Kahane of Missoula, MT, Joan Meyer of Lincoln, Richard (Cindy) Milligan of Lincoln, John Meyer of Wayne, Renee (Jim) Martocchio of Mt. Prospect, IL, and Randy Milligan of Wayne; brother, David (Judy) Meyer of Council Bluffs, IA;15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Annetta in 1962; son, Thomas Dean; daughter, Faith; siblings, Don (Edna) Meyer, Dean Meyer, and Virginia (Don) Kanzler.
