Eleanor Owens, 86, of Carroll

Funeral Services for Eleanor Owens, 86, of Carroll will be held at the United Methodist Church in Carroll on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with family present.
Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Carroll. Memorials may be directed to Owens family for later designation. She passed away Sunday at Heritage of Bel Air in Norfolk.
Eleanor Ann Owens, was born August 20, 1930, on a farm near Carroll to George and Anna (Paulsen) Hansen. She attended District #75 rural school near Carroll and graduated from Carroll High School. She attended Wayne State College and later was an elementary teacher in Ulysses and then Carroll. Eleanor married Dean Owens, June 17, 1951, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Carroll. Eleanor worked at Zach Oil for a short time and in 1968, she began employment with the Wayne County Assessors Office until her retirement. The couple farmed north of Carroll all of their married life until moving into Carroll in 1989. They were members of Bethany Presbyterian Church near Carroll until its closing in July 2011. They then joined the United Methodist Church in Carroll.
Eleanor is survived by her daughters, LeAnn (Bob) Beltz of Pierce and Becky (Rick) Lange of Hoskins; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Keith (JoAnn) Owens of Carroll; sister-in-law, JoAnn Hansen of Springfield, MO; nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dean, March 1, 2013; two brothers, Vernon Hansen and Arnold Hansen; two sisters, Irma Hall and Evelyn Hall.
