Edmond Heithold, age 89, of Wayne

Funeral Services for Edmond Heithold, age 89, of Wayne will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with family present. Interment with Military Rites will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.  Memorials may be directed to the Lutheran Hour and Grace Lutheran Church window restoration fund. He passed away Wednesday at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield. Arrangements with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
       Edmond Herman Henry Heithold, was born May 15, 1927, on a farm in Wayne County to Otto and Elenora (Claussen) Heithold.  He was baptized June 12, 1927, with his grandfathers as his sponsors.  He was confirmed May 19, 1940, at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne. He attended rural school at District #59 in Dixon County and Wayne High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps from September 21, 1945 to September 25, 1946. Ed married LaVerne Frevert December 14, 1949, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altona.  The couple farmed north of Wayne until moving to Wayne in 1995.  Ed was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church where he served as an Elder and on the Church Council. Ed also served on the School Board at District #59 and the Dixon County Township Board.  He enjoyed farming, bowling, and playing pool.  Most of all he loved his family.
     Edmond is survived by his eight children and their spouses, Lorie (Rodney) Haglund of Wakefield, Susan (Rick) Hollman of Omaha, Theresa (Raymond) Jensen of Wakefield, Douglas (Lora) Heithold of Carroll, Bryan (Mary) Heithold of Wayne, Linda (Timothy) Pfannenstiel of Omaha, Charlene (Mike) Fuchs of Denver, CO, and Michael (Mindy) Heithold of Wakefield;  22 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren;  sister, Delores Wobig of Lincoln; brother, Wilbur Heithold of Wayne; many nieces and nephews.
       Edmond was preceded in death by his parents; wife, LaVerne in 2006; infant twin sons, David and Daniel; grandson, Matthew Jensen; and sister, Ardene Nelson.
