The family of Dick Longe welcomes you to an open house to Celebrate his life at Miss Molly’s on Main Street in Wayne on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. No Visitation is planned. Private Graveside Services will be held at the Wakefield Cemetery with Military Rites. Memorials may be directed to the Longe Family for later
designation. He passed away Friday at the Wakefield Health Care Center. Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Richard “Dick” Arlan Longe was born May 25, 1937, at Wayne to Rollie and Tinabelle (Killion) Longe.  He graduated from Wayne High School in 1955. He served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959 and was a member of the 101st Airborne Division, Ft. Campbell, KY.  Dick married Vera Schopke December 4, 1964, in Emerson. The couple has farmed and fed cattle near Wayne for all of their life. Dick enjoyed cattle sales, fishing and watching baseball. In his younger years, he pitched for local town teams. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne.
   Richard is survived by his wife, Vera; their children and families, Karen Longe (Mark Hill), Kate, Kayla, and Gordon of Marshall, VA, Russell (Becky) Longe Lucas and Emily of Wakefield, Carol (Chris) McGuire Reagan and Kinnley of Wayne; brother, David (Sandra) Longe of Fremont, CA; sister-in-law, Mary Longe of Lincoln.
   Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert.
