Wayne State Tabbed 4th In NSIC, McClintock Receives Player To Watch for WSC

WAYNE – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) has released the 2015 Preseason Volleyball Coaches Poll along with players to watch this year for each of the 16 teams in the conference.
Wayne State College has been tabbed to finish fourth place in the NSIC this year according to the league office in Burnsville, MN that was released Tuesday. WSC received 184 points, just one spot out of the first place votes.
Wildcat senior setter, Leisa McClintock, from Sioux City, Iowa (Bishop Heelan HS) has been named as the Player to Watch for WSC this season. McClintock was named First Team All-NSIC last season while receiving Second Team All-NSIC honors as a setter her freshman and sophomore seasons. In the NSIC the Sioux City native ranked fifth in assists per set with 10.88 and ranks third in her career at Wayne State with 3,666 set assists. She had three triple-doubles last season and was named NSIC Setter of the week twice. McClintock was also named to the Capital One Academic All-District VII Second Team as a junior.
The Wildcat volleyball team finished 27-7 overall last season with a 16-4 league record. WSC defeated Central Missouri in the opening round 3-1 and then were swept by University of Minnesota Duluth in the second round of the 2014 NCAA DII Central Region Women’s Volleyball Championship.
Wayne State College is set to open their 2015 campaign in the Southern Indiana Tournament facing Northwood (Michigan) on Friday, September 4 at 11:30 a.m. Other teams WSC will face within the two-day tournament are Southwest Baptist, Kentucky Wesleyan, and Southern Indiana in Evansville, Indiana.
