WAKEFIELD (KTCH/KCTY)- Wakefield hosted Pierce in Junior and Senior Legion action last night. The Juniors game was decided in the bottom of the seventh, as Wakefield plated two runs with two outs to claim the come-from-behind win, 2-1. Cleo Sarmiento was 3-3 at the plate, and Evan Nicholson went 2-4 with the game-winning RBI single. Julio Perez got the win on the mound, pitching a complete game, allowing one run on nine hits and two walks, striking out five. For the Seniors, Wakefield used an eight-run fifth inning to claim an 11-9 win. Adam Drieling was 2-3 at the plate. Evan Nicholson added two hits and two RBIs again. Michael Eaton picked up the win in relief for Wakefield.
