Nebraska’s Chase Wolinski finishes fifth, is first-team All-American in javelin

AUSTIN, Texas — Nebraska’s Chase Wolinski earned first-team All-America honors Friday as she finished fifth in the javelin at the NCAA outdoor championships.

The junior from Lincoln Northeast had a best throw of 176 feet, 4 inches. A pair of teammates were second-team All-Americans in the event as Brittni Wolczyk was 14th (161-9) and Sydney Otto placed 15th (160-11).

The Huskers had two other second-team All-Americans on Friday. York graduate Mayson Conner placed 12th in the high jump (7-1 3⁄4), while football starter Carlos Davis was 16th in the discus (185-4).
