Hurdler Jasmine Barge wins two events for Nebraska at Crimson Tide Invitational

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Hurdler Jasmine Barge earned a pair of wins Friday as she led Nebraska at the Crimson Tide Invitational.

The senior from Florissant, Missouri, set a meet record in the 400-meter hurdles, winning with a time of 58.38 seconds. Barge and teammate Chanel Freeman took the top two spots in the 100 hurdles as Barge ran 13.35 seconds and Freeman’s time was 13.53.

NU’s Sadio Fenner won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal-best time of 9:32.55. Nebraska’s men’s 1,600-meter relay also won as it turned in a season-best time of 3:08.09.

The Huskers also had runners-up in field events. NU’s Garrison Hughes and Kevin Cahoy placed second and third, respectively, in the men’s pole vault as both cleared 16-8¾, while Nicole Baker and Andy Jacobs were second and third in the women’s pole vault as both cleared 12-8¼.

Burger Lambrechts was second in the men’s shot put (61-2¾), while Jonathan Miller was second in the triple jump (52-1¾).
