Could Tanner Lee find himself in an Atlanta uniform to begin his professional career?

The Falcons are reportedly hosting the former Husker quarterback for a pre-NFL draft visit.

Atlanta is comfortable under center with veteran Matt Ryan. The 32-year-old is entering his 11th professional season — all with the Falcons — and has started all but two games in that span. With Ryan accumulating 41,796 yards and 260 touchdowns in his career, Lee wouldn’t be challenging for a starting job.

But the backup position seems open. Behind Ryan is Matt Schaub, who turns 37 in June and has started two games since the start of the 2014 season.

In his one year with Nebraska, Lee completed 246 of 428 passes for 3,143 yards, 23 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.

The NFL draft begins Thursday, April 26, with the first round. The second and third round will take place April 27, with the fourth through seventh round on April 28.
