Virginia Moon Named Interim Superintendent At Auburn

AUBURN – The Auburn School Board has hired Virginia Moon as interim superintendent.

Moon, who was school superintendent in Ralston for 11 years before retiring in 2009, most recently served as an interim superintendent at Broken Bow and Kearney.

Auburn School Board minutes from Monday, say two candidates were considered. Moon will receive a salary 80 percent of the superintendent and $600 monthly for travel and lodging expenses.

The board also voted to pay $6,000 to the Nebraska Association of School Boards to assist in the superintendent search. An update is on the agenda for the board’s Feb. 4 meeting at 5:30 p.m.

Former school superintendent Kevin Reiman resigned Jan. 21 after portions of video taken by a school surveillance camera was posted on social media.
