Trout Stocking At Ta-Ha-Zouka Park

NORFOLK – Fishers in Nebraska are going to have a lot more luck this fall.

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is stocking lakes across the state this fall and winter with rainbow trout.

In Norfolk, Nebraska 1,500 trout of different sizes were released Wednesday morning, for the public to catch.

In total more than 90,000 trout will be stocked in 54 lakes, starting in September and finishing mid-December.

Around a dozen people were at Ta-Ha-Zouka Park waiting for the release.

Game and Parks officials say the trout restocking is mostly for the enjoyment of the public. The number placed in each lake is measured, to provide stability and to enhance fishing opportunities this fall and winter.

In Norfolk, around 1,300 smaller trout and 200 larger 12-inch fish were placed into the water to provide a catchable-size for everyone
