NORTHEAST, NE – Severe thunderstorms and heavy snow is expected for Friday and Saturday in northeast Nebraska.
The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard warning for northeast Neb. and a Winter Storm Watch for east-central Neb. on Friday night through Saturday.
The NWS also says severe thunderstorms are possible on Friday from 2 p.m to 7 p.m, including large hail, damaging winds and possible tornados. High fire danger conditions are also possible due to recent low humidity and strong southwest winds up to 30 mph.
On Saturday, north winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts of 50 mph is expected. Heavy snow from late Friday night is predicted to carry over into Saturday with snow tapering off Saturday night.
