WAYNE – As Wayne State College saw a slight decrease in active positive COVID-19 cases, officials with the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department provided their weekend numbers.
According to a release from NNPHD, there was one new COVID-19 positive from the weekend through Monday, April 5.
Of the 3,874 total positives, 3,694 have since recovered while there have been over 31,000 total cumulative negatives and nearly 35,000 total tests for the NNPHD Health District.
Monday’s report also included new positives since last report/total positives/total number recovered for each county in the health district. Cedar (0/928/896); Dixon (0/682/629); Thurston (0/1,154/1,100) and Wayne (1/1,110/1,069).

As of Friday, April 2 there were 83 positive cases (increase by four from the week prior) at Wayne State College with six active positive cases (down by two). Also, a total of 77 individuals returned to campus (up by six from the week prior).
The numbers provide a snapshot of the total number of positive cases for employees and students, the number of people who have returned to campus and the number of active positive cases.
