WAYNE – As Wayne State College saw a decrease in active positive COVID-19 cases, officials with the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department provided weekend numbers.

According to a release from NNPHD, there were nine new COVID-19 positives from the weekend through Monday, February 15.

Of the 3,593 total positives, 3,387 have since recovered and there have been nearly 26,000 total cumulative negatives and over 29,000 total tests for the NNPHD Health District.

Monday’s report also included new positives since last report/total positives/total number recovered for each county in the health district. Cedar (0/857/798); Dixon (4/629/587); Thurston (4/1,086/1,015) and Wayne (1/1,021/987).

Also, due to the cold temperatures, the Test Nebraska testing site will be closed on Tuesday, February 16 in Wayne.

 

As of Friday, February 12 there were 21 positive cases (increase by three from the week prior) at Wayne State College with two active positive cases (down by five). Also, a total of 19 individuals returned to campus (up by eight from the week prior).

The numbers provide a snapshot of the total number of positive cases for employees and students, the number of people who have returned to campus and the number of active positive cases. As a reminder, follow all guidelines and requirements regarding the four pillars of hygiene, masks, social distancing and self-screening.
