NNPHD COVID-19 Weekly Report Ending September 4

WAYNE – For the week ending on Saturday, September 4 the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department Health District had another 21 individuals recover from COVID-19 with now 44.05% of the area fully vaccinated, up by just over a half percent.

According to a release from NNPHD, cases per 100,000 for a seven-day reporting period were listed at 147, which was an increase of 49 from week ending August 28. The positivity rate percent fell from 13.82% to 8.7% in a week. The last three weeks of substantial reports have jumped to a high transmission level.

The Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department Health District is made up of Cedar, Dixon, Thurston and Wayne counties.

Testing doubled and then some from 217 tests being conducted two weeks ago to 517 this past week with 45 tests coming back positive. An increase of 23 active cases now brings the total to 117. Of the overall 42,514 tests reported, 4,216 have tested positive.

The active hospitalization category fell from three to one for a total of 233 hospitalizations. COVID-19 related deaths rose by one to 56.
