WAYNE – For the week ending on Saturday, October 16 the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department Health District had another 53 individuals recover from COVID-19 with now 47.42% of the District fully vaccinated.
According to a release from NNPHD, cases per 100,000 for a seven-day reporting period were listed at 297, which saw a decrease of 65 from week ending October 9. The positivity percent rate fell from 21.39% to 10.53% in a week. The 297 total is considered a high transmission level according to NNPHD which is 100 or more cases per 100,000. Substantial is between 50 – 99.99; moderate is 10 – 49.99 and low transmission is considered less than 10.
The Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department Health District is made up of Cedar, Dixon, Thurston and Wayne counties.
Testing rose from 519 to 864 with 91 tests coming back positive this past week. An increase of 38 active cases now brings the total to 407. Of the overall 47,764 tests reported, 4,746 have tested positive.
The active hospitalization category fell to three for a total of 253 hospitalizations. COVID-19 related deaths rose by one now at 58.
