NNPHD COVID-19 Weekly Report Ending January 1, County-Level Data Shared

WAYNE – For the week ending on Saturday, January 1 the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department Health District had another 64 individuals recover from COVID-19 with the District remaining at 49.79% being fully vaccinated for a month.

According to a release from NNPHD, cases per 100,000 for a seven-day reporting period were listed at 184 which saw an increase of 23 from week ending December 25. The positivity percent rate fell slightly from 9.04% to 7.23% recently. The 184 total is considered a high transmission level according to NNPHD which is 100 or more cases per 100,000. Substantial is between 50 – 99.99; moderate is 10 – 49.99 and low transmission is considered less than 10.

The Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department Health District is made up of Cedar, Dixon, Thurston and Wayne counties.

NNPHD officials were permitted to share county-level data this past week, which can be found below.

Testing rose from 542 to 775 with 56 tests coming back positive at the end of 2021. A decrease in active cases by 11 now brings the total to 262. Of the overall 56,032 tests reported, 5,621 have tested positive.

The active hospitalization category fell from three to one for a total of 306 hospitalizations. COVID-19 related deaths remained at 70.
