NNPHD COVID-19 Weekly Report Ending December 18, County-Level Data Shared

WAYNE – For the week ending on Saturday, December 18 the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department Health District had another 90 individuals recover from COVID-19 with the District remaining at 49.79% being fully vaccinated.

According to a release from NNPHD, cases per 100,000 for a seven-day reporting period were listed at 233, which saw a decrease of 28 from week ending December 11. The positivity percent rate rose slightly from 8.45% to 11.62% recently. The 233 total is considered a high transmission level according to NNPHD which is 100 or more cases per 100,000. Substantial is between 50 – 99.99; moderate is 10 – 49.99 and low transmission is considered less than 10.

The Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department Health District is made up of Cedar, Dixon, Thurston and Wayne counties.

NNPHD officials were permitted to share county-level data this past week, which can be found below.

Testing fell from 947 to 611 with 71 tests coming back positive this past week. A decrease in active cases by 16 now brings the total to 289. Of the overall 54,545 tests reported, 5,520 have tested positive.

The active hospitalization category rose by three for a total of 302 hospitalizations. COVID-19 related deaths remained at 69.
