WAYNE – The Wayne City Council has mandated a Face Covering Requirement. The unanimous City Council vote took place at Tuesday’s regular meeting. Ordinance 2020-22 goes into effect on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020 and will sunset at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021. The Council has the ability to repeal Ordinance 2020-22 before the stated sunset. Additionally, the Council may approve an extension of the Ordinance if they deem it necessary.
A $25 fine for each non-compliance violation will be enforced. The document doesn’t specify an enforcement agency or method. The actual text of Ordinance 2020-2 can be found on the City’s web site.
